How ChannelSkills Works
From a company website to evidence-led AI capability intelligence.
ChannelSkills helps enterprise buyers discover technology service providers and gives GSIs, MSPs and VARs a clearer way to make their AI capabilities visible, understandable and evidence-led.
01Start with your company URL
A visitor submits a company website address. ChannelSkills can use AI and publicly accessible information to create an evidence-backed starting profile covering company identity, locations, services, industries, AI specialisms, transformation capabilities and relevant technology ecosystem signals.
AI-assisted findings remain candidate intelligence until supported or confirmed. Unknown is preferable to guessed.
02One company, one canonical profile
Each organisation has one canonical company profile that can represent its presence and delivery capabilities across multiple markets. Regional coverage, trading names and source records connect to that identity rather than creating misleading duplicate companies.
03Claim, confirm and contribute
A public profile may exist before it is claimed. An authorised company representative can securely claim it, confirm or correct information, add supporting evidence, manage administrators and invite employees to contribute relevant skills or credentials.
Employee participation and personal capability profiles are optional. Company confirmation remains distinct from independent ChannelSkills verification.
04Search, compare and shortlist
Enterprise buyers and other visitors can search, compare and shortlist providers using company capabilities, locations, services, industries, credentials and supporting evidence. Search and matching results should explain why a company matched and distinguish verified facts from company-confirmed information, unverified signals and inference.
Where enabled, verified buyers can describe or upload requirements and invite selected providers to enterprise AI transformation opportunities.
05Evidence before assertion
Material capability claims retain their source, date, confidence and verification status where applicable. Missing evidence is treated as unknown, not as proof that a capability does not exist. Companies and affected individuals can request corrections, challenge information or request profile removal.
ChannelSkills does not guarantee that every profile is complete, current or independently verified, so consequential decisions still require appropriate due diligence.
06Transparent capability benchmarking
ChannelSkills may provide evidence-based benchmarking and AI Capability Index information using a published methodology. Only eligible evidence can contribute to an independent capability score. Payment, company size, popularity or supplied list position must not alter verification status, independent scores or search relevance.
07AI with human oversight
The AI-assisted Help Centre uses approved knowledge to answer routine questions and directs unresolved, sensitive or formal matters to an appropriate human route. Questions can reveal gaps in the Help Centre, but no user-provided or AI-generated answer is automatically published as ChannelSkills knowledge without authorised review and approval.
08Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic are only the beginning
Microsoft, OpenAI and Anthropic are among the first technology ecosystems represented by ChannelSkills. ChannelSkills is designed to expand across dozens of additional AI, cloud, data, security and enterprise technology ecosystems as evidence coverage and platform capabilities develop.
A new ecosystem will be added only when its capabilities can be represented clearly without weakening the evidence and verification standard.
09Independent by design
ChannelSkills is independently produced. Displaying a company, brand, technology or capability signal does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, certification or affiliation with Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, CRN, The Channel Company or another organisation.
Any sharing of personal information with GurusDirect.com must be separately explained, explicitly consented to and optional. Refusing that consent must not prevent participation in ChannelSkills.
